“ Dr. Ali was a genuinely warm and wonderful individual, hegave energy, commitment and inspiration to his students, staff and to otherswith whom he worked. He looked always happy, one of those who not only wascheerful in himself but who gave much cheerfulness to others. He was bright,logical, and systematic in his thinking. He was always willing to share hisideas and information. For me, he was even more special. He wrote me the mostwonderful reference letter to start my career in Academia with, and he wasalways there for helping more…I was hoping to visit him this coming September and I amstill in shock… He would not miss any arrangement, meeting, or deadline.
