Music - The gift that keeps on giving.

Music, music, music, you beautiful being! I want to sing it from the rooftops and promote your existance to all living creatures. You are something to be shared and cherished by everybody on this Earth. Music, you have played such an intrinsic role in my life and continue to be the most healing gift I’ve found on this planet. You have inspired me to dance, share, create, grow, love, experience and so much more.

When I was younger I also had my passion of dancing. I took this with me through all the years up until this very moment. I misunderstood for ages that music and dance were separate – “I am a dancer NOT a musician” – is what I would tell myself. Then I came to realize that they are complimentary and enhance each other; dancing is possible without music but not nearly as fun! So, I embraced you with open arms and heart to experiment with singing and playing instruments.

You led me on so many adventures through the rhythms of life. I met an awesome tribe of friends when I was 17 which was based purely around the connection to music. This tribe has been with me for 10 years and is still growing strong. We live in different parts of the world but are connected by that shared musical passion and those experiences. I know that I feel home with these people in so many ways and never would have met them was it not for the musical scene. I want to thank each one of you that shared a smile, a dance or a laughter throughout these fond memories of my life.

I was luckily enough to travel and experience many music festivals, eventually performing at my favorite one! Music you showed me how to follow my dreams and passions and continue to do so. You illustrated to me that art is a totally acceptable way of living when the schools and other institutions taught the opposite.

You have always been there for me through the good times and the bad, we shared all my most private moments. There have been melodramatic moments in my youth where I felt that the music was the only thing that understood me. Alongside that have been many more ecstatic moments listening to music and feeling it through my bones and carrying me to move my body in different motions.

Music you have also bought me the biggest present of my life, my partner. We met through our love of music and continue to create music together. Somebody once told me you were the “gift that keeps on giving” and I really grow to understand and accept that more and more. The love that my partner and I have for each other is beautiful and we use our love of music to heal ourselves and others. We sing together the names of God and pray that we can continue sharing our passion of music in the world.
